India By Numbers

It was an incredible trip, and I am sure I could write many many blog posts on my love of India (it was my second month-long stay), but for today I will give you a snapshot of my travels via the Facebook Status updates I wrote whilst I was there, and a few of my favourite photographs.

  1. Hi Anna I can’t wait to read all the detailed posts! How wonderful and amazing that you spent time in India.! I was born and raised in Mumbai (western india)…and my family originally hails from south india so my cooking is a mix of both southern and western Indian influences. Looks like you have traveled India much more than I have when I was there! ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. I love Mumbai too! And I am looking forward to trying some of your recipes – the food is such an integral part of a visit to India, it is just so wonderful and so full of exciting fragrances! I’ve been to the South too, around Kerala, and a little bit in Karnataka. I want to visit again and see the North and East next time, but it is such a vast country, I think I will have to go several more times to experience it all!

      1. Oh that’s wonderful that you visited Kerala too! I started my blog mainly to write down traditional Kerala recipes I learnt from my mom! I love to visit Kerala more than Mumbai now that I am settled in the US – the place and the food – that’s just me! ๐Ÿ™‚ Looking forward to your posts! ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. I went to Munnar, Periyar sanctuary, Kollam and Kochi! That was all in 2009 though, so my memories are hazy, but I am sure I can put together a post with a few of my favourite experiences and photos one day!

  3. Looks like you had a great time! I would love to go to India at some point in my life. I get to work Indian events from time to time. I love it when the women come in all those bright sari’s. They’re so beautiful I’d love to own one but I couldn’t rock it like they could

    1. I’m sure you could! I did (or at least I thought I did!), even with a less than perfect flat stomach, or even a vaguely flat stomach after three weeks of overindulging in delicious curries and djalebis and too many cups of chai! India is one of the most incredible places I have ever been, I cannot recommend it enough!
